Currently men aged 18+ must register for the United States draft. Should women be required to register as well?

Arguments For

Women are currently serving in the army as effective soldiers, technicians, medics, and officers.
Women have the right to vote and should have an equal duty to serve.

Arguments Against

Women are not physically or mentally as strong as men.
Women should stay at home to become pregnant and raise children.
The draft itself should be eliminated (see: Eliminate the draft? 100.0% no).
Since one man can fertilize hundreds of women, men are somewhat disposable. Women cannot bear the children of hundreds of men. Pregnancy takes 9 months, plus recovery time. This makes women less disposable.

As it was prior to WWII women are not required to sign up because they are needed to have children, care for the children, work in factories to provide for the war and manage the household while the man is gone. Therefore it is a compremise, men risk their life in war while women practically run the country. But with the new equal rights laws that the women so persistantly tried for its seems fitting that they too should be required, but hey do you really want people like Paris Hilton fighting your war??? - _fraz_ (twitter) vote up image vote down image 0
