Arguments For

This was the right judgement

Need to prevent ISPs from running counterfeit sites. Aiding and abetting criminal activity is itself a crime. Everyone is responsible.

Arguments Against

This was NOT the right judgement

ISPs are no different from roads and streets. Don't blame the roads for the criminals on the road.

Shouldn't the owner of the website be responsible, and not the one providing internet service? - thorie (twitter) vote up image vote down image 0

No, it is like a legitimate person goes to a shop and buys a butchers knife, kills some people, then the shop getting blamed for the murders for supplying the weapon. People have a right to privacy and obviously the ISP was respecting the persons privacy as they obviously did not suspect anything suspicious. Don't blame the roads for the criminals on them. - _fraz_ (twitter) vote up image vote down image 0
